Bravo, Brad Henry, Bravo.

But what is missing – is the very essence of Christianity itself.

A confession that Barack Hussein Obama was/is a sinner, completely incapable of redeeming himself, that he throws the entirety of his soul upon the finished work of the cross of Jesus Christ, that he accepts that compeleted work, and now dedicates his life to the TRUTH of the unchanging word of God. What is missing is his willingness to submit to the scriptural text, and to urge others to do so as well.

In short – the only things missing from Obama “conversion” to “Christianity” – is the actual conversion AND the Christianity.

While I agree that Obama’s conversion to Christianity seems, shall we say, tepid, this is not what frightens me about his potential presidential career. Obama claims to rely on his minister, Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.,  to sure that he is “speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible.” Rev. White is a man who says that 9/11 was the result of violent American foreign policies and that the attacks proved that “people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West went on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns.”

 If this man is Obama’s spiritual advisor, we are in for an administration of paranoia, race-baiting, and anti-American indulgence that makes Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton look like patriots.

Many people in the audience and the viewing audience know that my dad worked in textile mills all his life, and I can remember vividly — my dad is here tonight. I was born here in South Carolina. I can remember vividly my dad after church once Sunday, when I was about 10 years old, taking us — it’s our whole family — into a restaurant. I was dressed up.

I was very proud to be there, and we sat, got our menus, looked at the menus, and the waitress came over and my father said, “I’m sorry, we have to leave.” I didn’t understand. “Why? Why do we have to leave?” And I was embarrassed. I found out when we got outside the reason we had to leave is he couldn’t pay the prices that were on the menu.

The reason I’m running for president of the United States is so that everybody in this country can have the same kind of chances I’ve had.

Call me crazy, but not being able to pay for a meal at a fancy restaurant does not constitute poverty.  How about he take a trip to the Appalachian Mountains and get a look at real poverty, where families don’t even have electricity or running water. Or how about going to the Cherokee Indian Reservation where the people are so dependant on the government that they are living in complete squalor… (there’s socialism at work for all you liberals).

He preaches this message on the campaign trail, but on his own time he’s getting $400 haircuts. Now this is the man who knows how to teach fiscal responsibility and greater opportunity to the poor. If Edwards is elected President we can all eat at fancy restaurants and get free trips to the Pink Sapphire!
